POKOTABI / Ginza Yuradoki
銀座ゆら刻 Ginza Yuradoki
Tucked along an alley off Yanaka Ginza, Ginza Yuradoki serves carefully prepared seafood—from tender anago bowls to aged tuna and premium kaisen-don—in an intimate setting of about ten seats.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
Just steps away from the lively Yanaka Ginza shopping street, Ginza Yuradoki is a small izakaya dedicated to seafood handled with painstaking care. One of its specialties is the anago-don, featuring conger eel simmered so soft and fluffy that bones are imperceptible, glazed with a well-balanced sweet-and-savory tare and layered generously over rice. Aged tuna is another core attraction, highlighting seafood concentrated in umami through aging. The offerings include a tuna-centric bowl incorporating lean cuts and head meat, as well as a premium seafood bowl packed with carefully selected catches like seasonal cherry salmon, allowing diners to appreciate the seasonal depth of the ingredients right in the bowl.
Thoughtful smaller plates enrich the meal further. From grilled eggplant soaked in gentle dashi broth to toro-taku combining fatty tuna with the crunch of pickled daikon, through to deeply savory fish-bone soup (ara-jiru), the side dishes surrounding each main bowl show the same attention to detail. In the evening or alongside drinks, guests can opt for a chef's omakase progression featuring sashimi, grilled dishes, and fried conger eel, making it easy to linger leisurely over beer or wine.
With only about ten seats split between the counter and an outdoor terrace, the shop benefits from the attentive hospitality of the husband-and-wife owners, creating an unpretentious and relaxed atmosphere. It serves equally well as a satisfying lunch stop during an afternoon stroll or a dependable evening retreat for lingering over good fish.
